The Mysterious time

Once upon a time, there was a large house. It was an empty mansion. Its walls and surrounding was a scene from a horror movie. the weather was dark and foreboding. what was more eerie was the sounds of the wind as if the air was whispering about a lingering presence. the young boy stood at its entrance trying to figure out a way in.

'I have always wanted to go inside but i was always scared.' he said to his friend who also stood beside him. She was quite apprehensive about trying as well. The door was huge, and the entrance wasn't exactly inviting. However, curiosity got the best of them. as scary as it was that cloudy night, Jack and Tracy stepped quietly onto the doormat and as jack was about to press the door bell, he heard some sounds. this time a distinct sound of footsteps. both of them was startled and in panic they retreated behind the nearest pillar near the steps leading up to the entrance.

the sound of the footsteps increased and it suddenly stopped. they both looked at each other.

'perhaps its time to go home.' tracy said

'we came all this way. Tracy' Jack protested

'something isn't right' Tracy said

With a sigh, Jack and tracy tried again, stepped closer towards the doormat and this time the door opened suddenly. They expected someone to be standing at the door but there wasn't anybody there. The lights were on and they finally had a good look inside. They both reluctantly stepped in and the door closed shut behind them.

The interior was beautiful. Everything was ornamental and has some carvings on the surface, be it wood, gold or bronze. They were now standing in the center of the lobby with a beautiful chandelier hanging above them, captivated by the baeuty and scent of the place. There is a strange but lovely scent like pot-pourri and sandalwood. 'tick', 'tock', was the only sound they heard so far, originating from the large grandfather clock. There was a nice classical feel to the place. they felt as though they were back through time during the 19th century. Then there was that footsteps again. It was coming from around them.

'hello?' jack called

no answer. the silence was deafening. there was not a sound in the house. the huge grandfather clock stopped ticking. but for some reason, there was no cobwebs, no dust. no dust. no dust...no dust

'no dust..dust.......dust'

His mind was fixated to the word dust. A gust of wind blew across the room and fine dust blew and fell on their faces. Tracy's blond hair danced in the wind joining itself with the micro-fine dust, and they both, while still standing grew sleepy and sleepier. Jack's eye lids gradually closed as the fine dust sealed it, sealing every pore of his skin and the hair on his joined and was one with the dust until it fine skin cells twirled and twisted and morphed into similar looking skin cells but with some difference in texture and shape.

The eye lids opened slowly, and a large face of a squirrel approached him and spoke to him, handing him a nut. Everything looked familiar around him and the squirrel with beautiful coat of gold like fur also seemed familiar to him. Enhanced sight and smell seemed natural and the surroundings seemed like home. A strange sensation has come over him. Something he had never felt before yet, felt so familiar. Starnge as it may seem, he recognized the squirrel before him and knew what they both had to do.

The two squirrels touched their noses, and together they hopped among the bright autumn leaves, climbed and jumped from tree to tree, to the largest tree in the center of the dense forest. A tree that looked like it was centuries old. The entrance to the tree was mysteriously inviting, like a door specially carved to greet them. The bright beige mushrooms stood sentry to the entrance and the green moss stood by like a door mat awaiting their final decision.

Reluctantly they stepped carefully onto the moss with their noses sniffing the ground they were threading on. Very slowly and carefully they both stepped into the entrance and into its shadow. As they went further inside, they were enveloped gradually by the shadow and faded from view. They were inside or so it seems.

Where are they and what happens next, only time can tell..
