She writing in her notebook everything that she may have found about about the poisoned waters in the ocean which her friend Curry the Crab told her based on their last meeting. Just then, her mother Mrs, Lovey brought her a cup of hot chocolate.
'Blue sweetie, don't forget to finish your harp practice for your lessons at six today.' Mrs lovey reminded
'Yes mom.' Blue Darling said
'Err Mom, can I go to the beach this afternoon?' Blue Darling asked
'Yes you can. But don't forget your hat as it can be quite hot.' Mrs Lovey said
'Thank you Mom. I'll wear my favourite hat' Blue Darling replied gratefully
Blue Darling raced back into her house and wore her favourite round Blue Hat with pictures of white daisies on it. She also took the horn shell which Curry gave her so she could call him when she is at the beach. She then got on her blue bicycle and cycled to the beach which was very near her home.
When she got to the beach, she was so excited and she took the horn shell and blew it as hard as she could. A wonderful tone was heard which created ripples in the water. She waited for Curry to emerge. After a while, Blue Darling was rather surprised. Curry never emerged from the sea. She tried blowing the horn shell again and again but to her dismay, Curry still failed to emerge. She then gave up and sat down on the sand thinking and wondering why Curry never showed up. Then she suspected that something was wrong and she remembered about what Curry told her. Curry mentioned about strange boats, poachers and a man dressed in black with a black cap. Blue Darling became very worried.
Suddenly she heard some rustling sounds behind her, coming from the nearby woods. It sounded like something trampling on dried leaves. Blue Darling became nervous and anxious as to what was making that sound. Then to her horror, a huge, humongous centipede, which was as big as a car and as long as a truck, appeared from the woods. It was looking at Blue Darling and she was actually an open target. The giant insect moved slowly towards her but Blue Darling remained very still hoping the insect would leave or think that she isn't alive. Its antennae was probing her hair and face.
'Your human flesh smells very sweet. Are there anymore of your kind?' said the shiny black centipede
Blue Darling remained very quiet and did not reply. Yet she is very scared at this point she was so scared that she wanted to scream for help but she also feared that her scream might shock the insect and it might kill her.
All of the sudden, it became very windy and a loud sharp voice was heard from above.
'There you are centipede! There won't be many of your kind left if you keep eating young children!'
Then a huge giant falcon with golden brown feathers and wings swooped down from the sky and grabbed the centipede by it sharp talons and lifted the insect up into the sky. The Falcon landed at the nearby rocks and Blue Darling witnessed the falcon's head bopping up & down and she heard crunching and crushing sounds which followed the falcon's actions. After a few minutes, the falcon flew and landed beside Blue Darling. She was astonished by the sheer size of the beautiful falcon and she was also grateful to the falcon for saving her life.
'Are you alright young lady?' asked the concerned falcon with graceful, motherly and warm voice.
'Phew! I am alright. Thank you for saving my life. Did you just eat the centipede?' Blue Darling asked
'Erm, no, I ripped it to pieces. I never eat centipedes, they are disgusting and they give me a bad stomach. I had been looking everywhere for it. That disgusting insect killed my children. My chicks never had the chance to get out of their eggs. My husband & I vowed to kill all the centipedes we see so they will never harm any other children including human children. What's your name young lady?' asked the falcon
'I am Blue Darling. What's yours?' Blue Darling replied
'I am Fairy and my husband's name is Claw. Oh my! You look very pretty in that blue dress. I really like looking at colors! Are you okay? Why do you look concerned?' asked the falcon
'Its my friend, Curry. He is lost at sea. I blew this horn shell but he never showed up.' Blue Darling explained
Blue Darling then explained to Fairy, everything concerning the poachers, the man dressed in black wearing a black cap and the boats which was dumping some dangerous things into the sea.
'Don't be sad. All friends of yours will be friends of mine. Bad things are going on everywhere and I am here to help you. Here, hop onto my back. We can go and search for him.' suggested the falcon
'I can't just leave. I must tell my mother so she won't be so worried.' said Blue Darling
Then Blue Darling raced home in her bicycle and told her mother, Mrs Lovey everything but Mrs Lovey doesn't realize that Curry and Fairy were giant animals. Soon after, Blue Darling raced back to the beach and met Fairy who was waiting there. She hopped onto fairy's back and held on to fairy feathers.
'Are you ready Blue Darling?' Fairy asked
'I am ready ma'am' replied Blue Darling
Then the falcon flapped its giant wings and they lifted off smoothly and what a sight to behold for Blue Darling as she has never rode on the back of a giant falcon before. The falcon flew higher and higher until they were among the clouds. Blue Darling felt so wonderful and so happy to fly and was so impressed with the view of the sea below.
So Fairy the falcon, with Blue Darling riding on its back, flew on towards the horizon searching for certain clues as to what happened to Curry the crab and what is happening to the creatures at sea.
